Looking for Mushrooms started on trails through the woods at the Ox-Bow School of Art in Saugatuck, Michigan. It expanded to looking for mushrooms everywhere I went. A curiosity around knowing the mushrooms that grew in the areas I spent time in was the source for this work. It was a time to get acquainted with each mushroom I came across, its given names, the environments each is a part of, and their sensation to hold as I worked with them to create a visual record similar to a spore print.
